Author Browses (Basic)

Note: Browse searches do not work with Internet Explorer 8. Please use another browser, or enable the Compatibility View in the IE 8 browser. For more information about Compatibility View, see Internet Explorer 8: Features.

 

Authors in MadCat are often individuals, editors, and performers. See the table of contents at the left for information on authors as corporations, conferences, associations or government agencies.

In the Basic Search, select Author Browse from the Search By: dropdown menu:

  • Type the author's last name first
  • Punctuation is not necessary

To find all works by William Shakespeare:

Author Browse

If you are unsure of an author's first name, or unsure of the correct spelling, type as much as you know. To find works by Tennessee Williams:

Author Browse

Corporate, Conference and Other Names

Corporate, conference, geographic and government names as authors should be entered in direct order. Punctuation is not necessary.

Examples:

Corporate: hewlett packard

Conference: white house conference on aging

Geographic: great britain

Geographic and Government Agency: wisconsin dept of revenue (Note: Department is abbreviated in the name.)

Government Agency: central intelligence agency
